Buck Gooter, Northern Liberties, CRY9C, Circuit Cult

Buck Gooter is an electro rock band established in 2005 that has spent their entire existence operating at the unlikely conflux of prolific bedroom songwriter and DIY punk pilgrim traditions, with over two dozen albums in their discography and over 800 shows scraped together and played in the international sub-underground and above.

Their work is presented in the form of idiosyncratic expressionistic impulses conveyed over semi-relatable beat, loop, and skronk based music that forms a singular experience. A truly death-defying act, Buck Gooter has persisted after the passing of founding member Terry Turtle in 2019, who insisted that the music continue to live on without him. Thusly, remaining founding member Billy Brett produced music with Terry Turtle sampled in every song and has released three albums under these new collaborative terms.

"King Kong Lives: Thereminsanity", the latest entry into the Buck Gooter canon, finds the band unbound, alive, and persistent in their quest for self expression.

Northern Liberties are a three piece band consisting of drums, percussion, bass, and voices. Northern Liberties formed deep underground in the year 2000 as an outgrowth the West Philadelphia basement band scene. Brothers Justin and Marc Duerr, on percussion/vocals and drums, respectively, joined long-time friend Kevin with the idea of forming a band. The unusual instrumentation was a result of the three deciding to work with what and whom they were most comfortable with rather than bringing in other musicians – thus a new and idiosyncratic sound was forged, more out of practicality than any desire to be deliberately offbeat. Northern Liberties receive their music from an unnameable/indescribable dimension, which, while being impossible to accurately describe using any language including music, is most clearly shown in rough outline by the occult practice of musical realization.

Cry9c is a three piece industrial band from Philadelphia that features heavy electronics, guitar, and live vocal looping. While in an electronic palette, Cry9c’s music holds the energy & sensibilities of a live band at its core.

Circuit Cult (NOT Clock Issue) is Kyle Press (Love Club, Impressionist, OhBree, Upholstery) on sax, flute, vox, pedals, and Paul Walker (SGNLS, Lesser Known Neutrinos) on analog and digital synths.
